LEATHER & ALCANTARA
Leather Cleaning & Leather Protection: Leather is first vacuumed to remove dust and grime. All seams and stitching are vacuumed to remove accumulated build-up. Leather is cleaned to remove embedded dirt and grime. Leather is then wiped with white microfiber to determine if further cleaning is needed. A second deep cleaning is often needed to remove oils from hands, skin and clothing. Once a fresh, clean surface is achieved leather protectant is applied to repel dirt and help prevent staining from food or liquid spills. Leather treatment will prevent against discoloration from the sun’s UV rays but if your vehicle spends a lot of time parked in the sun the treatment should be repeated every six months.
Everyone has their own preference when it comes to interior treatments. Some people like a semi-gloss finish. Other people prefer a rich, satin look on their interior surfaces. And some people want a matte appearance with no gloss or sheen. I can adjust the finish to your liking by using different products and different dilutions to achieve the look you want.
If your vehicle has a light-colored leather interior I recommend application of a professional leather coating. This will prevent jean dye transfer that can permanently stain leather seats. The dyes used to color jeans will often rub off and stain light colored seats. Usually it’s the driver’s seat that gets it first. You want to apply protection BEFORE your seats are stained. This special coating is effective on all leather seating and will last for 1 to 2 years. Price will be quoted upon inspection of the vehicle.
ALCANTARA
What is Alacantara? Alcantara is a microfiber material developed in Japan and its being used by several car manufacturers. Its often used to cover seats, door panels and headliners. Some car interiors will have it applied on the steering wheel. Car dealers have found that many people like the appearance of Alcantara and describe it as having a soft, suede-like look and feel. Generally the material wears well and resists stains. It can become matted and dirty from the oils on our skin and from lotions or hand creams. If your Alcantara has become dirty or matted it I can restore it to look like new again.
